between philosophy and practice of Aikido

I am reminded of a story

An eminent English professor, he had gone to India to teach history and philosophy. One day he found himself going to a place for which he had to cross the river Ganges.
On the banks of the great river was a young man, with his little boat, ferried customers on the opposite bank. The professor and bargained the price went up on the small boat.
After several minutes of browsing the professor, noticing the young age of the ferry, said " but you do not go to school? " "No Sahib," replied the boy. "So do not know the history of your country " the professor asked, "No Sahib," replied the boy. " See boy, not knowing your roots, it's like you lose ten per percent of your existence, "" Yes Sahib, "replied the boy sadly. " And tell me, boy, you know the literature of your country? ", "No Sahib," replied the boy. " See? so you lose another ten percent of your existence, why does not familiar with the traditions. "It Sahib," replied the boy even more sadly. " know at least some of the more degrees philosophers of your country? "asked the professor for the third time." No Sahib, "replied the boy." Well, dear boy, not knowing the mind of your people, like you've lost another ten percent of your life, "insisted the professor." It Sahib "he said, dejected, the boy.
At this point the two had already arrived the middle of the journey when the boy noticed that the boat was leaking. Asked the professor " Sahib, you, know how to swim? . " No Boy, I never learned . With a smile the boy said, " Sahib, you are losing a hundred per cent of its existence .

A good philosophy, a way of thinking properly, helps us and guides us to right actions. Each of us has a philosophy, good or bad, that guides us in our everyday actions, good and bad they are, but they are always actions that are crucial.
Each company has its own philosophy, which will affect the strategies, but they are the concrete actions of the leaders and personnel give value to the company. Even
every art has its own philosophy, but the success of the artist is in the quality of his work, in being able to express the concepts with their material capabilities.
Even religion has its own philosophy. The best religion is not that close to the convent to pray, but what comes to actually helping the weak.

All martial arts have a philosophy that serves to guide the practice and philosophy that guide and monitor the effectiveness of applied art suitable technique is applied, certain values \u200b\u200band principles. The effectiveness of the practice highlights the philosophical aspect, if applicable, or if it is just pure utopia.
Philosophy and practice go hand in hand. A depends on the quality of the other. More regularly, correctly and efficiently will be the practice, its philosophy will gain more, and vice versa.

If a strong fighting capacity is accompanied by a bad philosophy there will be aggression and violence.
If a strong fighting capacity is accompanied by a sound philosophy, you will have the chance to fight aggression with favorable results (but not obvious), with a proper control of violence.
While a good philosophy is accompanied by a poor fighting spirit then surely succumb, and suffer violence.

If all this is implemented, then aikido is really applicable to everyday life.

Aikido martial art is certainly more philosophically.
I read that Morihei Ueshiba often said to his disciples: "... without philosophy, Aikido is nothing ... . But keep in mind that, in saying this, it is also discounted the statement, "... Aikido ineffective is worth nothing ...."
But when I look around, in meetings, in the stage, I see a lot of philosophy and little effectiveness.

Morihiro Saito Sensei, it seems, never talked about philosophy. He also said that O Sensei was not large exposures in the philosophical Iwama Dojo, where O Sensei lived and taught. What he did, however, when he went outside the Dojo.
The philosophical aspect, Iwama, was contained in the same martial arts practice, and needed no explanation. In other Aikido Dojo was already taking different paths to personal interpretations of his disciples and taught many, even in the expectation to adapt to a practice of export. Maybe O Sensei was trying to bring Aikido to its original path.
It is said that towards the end of his life, was asked "... Master, is now glad that Aikido is practiced around the world? " O Sensei said, "Yes , sin that is not my Aikido .

The writings that follow in this session of "Practice and filofia" are my calculations and interpretations, based on readings and documentation concerning several authors. My intention is to highlight what I could to incorporate the teaching system of Morihiro Saito, and how this system preserves all aspects of Aikido, philosophical and technical.
